Lead researchers: Dr Blandina Kilama (REPOA) , Mr Jan Isaksen (CMI) and Mr Fred Matola (NBS)

The availability of rich, quality data, at both the national and local level, is essential for rigorous research and a precondition for informed policymaking and public debate.

Our research aims to build up and disseminate a data set over time to establish an evidence base for informed policymaking and public dialogue on the petroleum sector and its effects on Tanzanian society. This will include both national level statistics on macro-economic performance and petroleum industry developments. The work will be conducted in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics.
